AI website analytics without another dashboard

How asking ChatGPT or Claude about your Google Analytics and Search Console data compares with building reports, and when opening GA4 itself is still the better choice.

ExplainerWritten by Panagiotis SaridisPublished Updated 7 min read

The short answer

Once your sources are connected, you ask ChatGPT or Claude in plain words and get an answer from your Google Analytics, Search Console or store data. You skip finding the right report and setting filters. For figures you check regularly, for exploring a chart, or for confirming a figure before a decision, GA4 and Search Console remain the better place.

To ask about your traffic in plain words, start with the Google Analytics connection for ChatGPT and Claude.

Key points

  • Plain questions save time when you do not know which report holds the answer.
  • Your data and its definitions stay the same. Only the way you ask changes.
  • Open GA4 or Search Console to confirm important figures and for the views you check every week.

What changes when you ask

GA4 has many reports, and each one needs the right date range, dimension and filter. With Mitos connected, you type the question. The AI assistant picks the report, Mitos fetches the data through read-only tools, and the AI assistant writes the answer.

Nothing in your GA4 property changes when you only ask. Mitos has no dashboards or reports of its own.

When GA4 itself is the better choice

Some jobs are easier in the original tool.

  • When you look at the same figures every week.
  • When you want to explore a chart by eye.
  • When you need to confirm a figure before spending money or changing prices.
  • When you set up tracking, conversions or audiences. Mitos creates them only with permission and approval, and you check them in GA4 itself.

Questions that are easier to ask

Asking helps most when a question spans more than one source, or when you are not sure where the answer lives.

  • Where did our visitors come from last week?
  • Which pages gained or lost search impressions compared with the previous period?
  • Which pages get plenty of search impressions but little actual traffic?
  • Which products sell best, and how did the people who bought them reach our site?

What to expect from answers

The AI assistant writes every answer, and answers can be wrong or incomplete. Ask which date range and source it used.

Mitos does not watch your data today. Monitoring and alerts are coming next, with no date yet.

Questions people ask

Does Mitos replace GA4?

No. GA4 keeps collecting and storing your data. Mitos reads it, read-only by default, so ChatGPT or Claude can answer questions about it.

Do I still need dashboards?

If you look at the same figures regularly, a saved report in GA4 still makes sense. Asking ChatGPT or Claude suits one-off questions and questions that combine sources.

Can Mitos alert me when traffic drops?

Not yet. Monitoring and alerts are coming next.
