The short answer
People use the phrase for four different setups: ChatGPT reading your public pages, a chatbot for visitors, a file you upload, or an authorized connection to your own data, read-only by default. To ask about your traffic, search and sales, you need the last one. With Mitos you connect your sources in the app, add one address to ChatGPT or Claude, and approve access for one organization.
If Google Analytics is the first source you want to connect, see how Google Analytics connects to ChatGPT and Claude.
Key points
- If you give ChatGPT your web address, it sees public pages only. Your analytics, search data and orders stay private.
- A chatbot on your site answers visitors. An authorized connection answers your own team.
- Mitos connects Google Analytics, Search Console, WordPress, WooCommerce and Magento, read-only by default.
- The same address works in ChatGPT and Claude, and you revoke access from the Mitos app.
What “connect” can mean
| Setup | What the AI assistant can see | Useful for |
|---|---|---|
| Web search | Pages anyone can open | Questions about your public copy |
| Chatbot on your site | The content you give it | Answering visitors |
| File upload | One export, as it was when you made it | A single look at one report |
| Authorized connection, read-only by default | Current data from the sources you approve | Ongoing questions about traffic, search and sales |
Start with who is asking
Think about who will type the question. If a visitor wants help choosing a product, you are looking for a chatbot on your site. If you or your team want to know how many visitors came last month or which products sold best, you need a connection to your own data.
The two setups use different data and different permissions. This guide covers the second one.
What Mitos connects today
Mitos is a bridge between your business data and ChatGPT or Claude, read-only by default. It has no AI model of its own. The AI assistant writes the answer, and Mitos fetches the data it asks for.
Shopify and monitoring with alerts are coming next. They are not available yet.
- Google Analytics (GA4): sign in with Google and choose the properties you want, each for one of your sites.
- Google Search Console: sign in with Google and choose the properties you want.
- WordPress and WooCommerce: one click, with the Mitos plugin. Any WordPress site gives its published posts and pages, and with WooCommerce its shop data too.
- Magento or Adobe Commerce: an integration access token. Nothing to install.
The steps in the Mitos app
Setup is self-serve at app.sar-soft.com and takes a few minutes. If you get stuck, email [email protected].
- Create an account, then create an organization for your business.
- Connect your sources. Each WordPress connection points to one site and each Magento connection to one store; from Google, only the properties you choose are read.
- Add the Mitos address to ChatGPT or Claude (see below).
- Sign in when the AI assistant asks, and authorize one organization.
Adding the address to ChatGPT or Claude
The address is https://mcp.sar-soft.com/mcp, a remote MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. You add it as a custom connector (in ChatGPT, with developer mode turned on). OpenAI and Anthropic decide which plans can add a custom connector, and their guides are listed in the references below.
- ChatGPT: turn on developer mode, add a custom connector with the address and choose OAuth.
- Claude: add a custom connector and paste the address.
- In both: sign in to Mitos and choose the organization the AI assistant may read.
Check before you approve
Before you authorize any connection, this one included, check what it can read and how you take access back.
- By default only read tools are exposed. Your site, your store or Google Analytics change only if an owner or admin allows it, and anything that would go live waits for approval.
- One AI connector reaches one organization.
- You revoke an AI assistant in the Mitos app, and it takes effect within about a minute.
- A Magento connection can read customer names, emails and order history. The app warns you before you connect.

Questions people ask
Can I just give ChatGPT my web address?
ChatGPT can look at public pages when it searches the web. A web address gives it no access to your Google Analytics, Search Console or orders. Those need an authorized connection.
Does it work with Claude too?
Yes. You add the same address as a custom connector in Claude. The plans that can do this are listed below.
- ChatGPTOn a Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu plan, on the web, with developer mode turned on.OpenAI's guide
- ClaudeOn any plan. Free allows one custom connector, and on Team and Enterprise an owner adds it first.Anthropic's guide
- Claude CodeClaude Code installed, with a Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise or Console account. The free Claude plan does not include Claude Code.Anthropic's guide

Will my visitors see Mitos?
No. Your team uses it inside ChatGPT or Claude. No chat window appears on your site.
Does it need write access?
No. By default Mitos gives the AI assistant read tools only, and Google access is read-only. Changes to a source are needed only if you want to allow them, and an owner or admin decides that.
